My name is Margot Folch, also known as Gochi, and I am a Graphic & Motion Designer with 5 years of experience and a BA in Graphic & Communication Design. Currently pursuing an MA in Animation, I specialise in 2D animation that blends traditional techniques with experimental stop-motion.
My work explores a variety of mediums, using my skills in the Adobe Suite, Maya, Blender, as well as sculpting, collages, traditional drawing & painting techniques. I experiment with harmonious compositions to convey intense yet ambiguous emotions; they vary from comedy to tragedy, but one recurrent emotion is grief. Bereavement is a very important subject to me: life won’t let me forget about death, so now grief constantly influences my work.
Passionate about diversity and representation, I always aim to craft animations that entertain, inspire, and reflect unique perspectives. I have created dozens of educational explainer videos, brochures, and adverts as a freelance motion designer at First Move Productions; working with international clients, notably on Euractiv projects co-funded by the European Union.
Through Gochi Studio, I aspire to create an emotional sanctuary where anyone can find comfort and connection, turning intangible feelings into something you can see, hear, and feel.
